About Saxon Films

Saxon Films was realized after a bit of struggle. I thought it egotistical, but since we're living in an age of self-development, self-expression and self-reliance, why not name it after myself. Saxon Films is an experiment in essentialism - to see what might be possible with very little. Daring to make films that explore the deep and dark complexities of our hearts, to make light of our darkest hours and somehow magnify our ever-present gems.

About The Debt Of Maximillian

This story is loosely based on my younger brother and me. Each character playing a brother in the movie is a mixture of the two of us, so no single character entirely represents either of us.

The birth of the story occurred when I finally came to terms with my brother’s gambling habit. I didn’t want to face the truth, but had to to move forward with writing the story.

The hint of my brother's habit was made aware to me when he lost it when the L.A. Lakers missed a free throw in a playoff game. I thought it unusual to see him blow up and out of balance like this. I had no idea he placed a huge bet on the game.

He later revealed in a separate incident that he had won $25,000 in one week of sports betting, then lost it all the next.
